A week of camping around the coast of Galicia, brought us a mixed bag of weather & a decision to end our camping adventures (well in our current tent anyway π).
O Grove
Our journey started in O Grove a tiny resort on the South West coast of Galicia, with beautiful sheltered bays, perfect for swimming.
A Guarda
From here, we moved on to A Guarda near the border with Portugal. The rugged coastline was made even more dramatic, by stormy weather & cold breezes. The campsite was right on the Camino de Portugal (one of the routes of the Camino de Santiago). This provided us with plenty of evening walking opportunities, as there wasn’t much else nearby.
As well as visiting the neighbouring towns, we also had the opportunity to take a quick trip into Portugal.
Port Novo & Sanxenxo
Next, we returned to South West Galicia (not far from O Grove), the busy seaside towns called Porto Novo & Sanxenxo (which are a fairly easy 20 min walk from each other).
By now, the mini heatwave hitting most of Europe, had made its presence known & the tent was ‘baking’. After two very hot & uncomfortable nights under canvas, we finally decided ‘NO MORE CAMPING’ (well not in Spain anyway π) & have donated our tent to some younger adventurers.
So, a busy week 3 & I finally have WiFi & power to update the blog & photos.
Next week: we have 4 days in Santiago de Compostela & then we fly to the UK, where we will be house/pet sitting for a week.
