Tour of Spain – Week 2: Burgos & León

So on we travelled, first stop Burgos.

Our friend Rosa, had recommended her home city several times, but we’d never quite made it before.

We loved everything about Burgos, from the river walks & open green spaces, to the cathedral & history. The city is clean, green & has a modern feel, mixed with the historic buildings & Camino de Santiago walkers’ vibe.

We were surprised by the size & how busy León was. The historic centre seems engulfed by the modern city that surrounds it. We were lucky enough to be staying right in the ‘casco viejo’ behind the cathedral.

The Gaudí museum watched over by Gaudí himself & St George (complete with dragon).

Next: we move on to Galicia & a week of camping in a cooler climate. Unfortunately I do not know if we will have WiFi & we will definitely not have electricity, so the blog may be delayed.
