Unfortunately on our first day here, I suffered with a bad migraine; probably the after effect of our terrible journey the day before. So in the afternoon, being an orchid fan, I was keen to visit the orchid gardens in the village.
All of the of orchids are native to the tropics, some only to Costa Rica. They are the result from natural fertilisation & seed distribution & are not commercially grown. All are growing in their natural habitat.
None of the orchids are hybrid plants, as you would find back home for sale.
Among the ones we saw today were: the one day flowering, the world’s smallest & the Dracula orchid.
